Gipping Valley Partnership
Needham Market Middle School works closely with other schools in the wider community. The Stowmarket and Stowupland pyramids together are called The Gipping Valley Partnership. Please visit the corporate website for more information.
Welcome to Needham Market Middle School.
I hope that what you see in our website (together with our school brochure) will give you a 'flavour' of what we offer as a school, namely; Quality Learning and Quality Caring. Our aim is to provide excellent teaching to enable every child to learn effectively and to fulfil their potential. Teaching and learning are supported by high quality care and guidance which create a caring, disciplined and structured environment. Our Ofsted 2007 and 2009 reports praised the quality of teaching and learning and relationships in the school.
We offer a range of extra-curricular clubs and activities which provide opportunities for development and organised leisure. All children are encouraged to take advantage of what we offer.
We are a small school which means that we know every child very well indeed. Our size makes us accessible and approachable which is very important to us as we believe in a strong home-school partnership. We are also a genuinely inclusive community school and take equal pleasure in the achievements of those children who are very able and talented as we do for those for whom success comes less easily.

Olympics Year
You will be well aware that the Olympic Games come to London later this year. Visitors to school will see a new display in our foyer based around the theme of 'Olympics 2012'. At our first whole school assembly of the new year, pupils learned how they can gain bronze, silver and gold medals which will contribute to the medals table. Everyone, including staff, has been allocated to a country so that we can have inter-country competitions as well as points gained in class that will contribute to the award of a medal. The Olympics will also be used in lessons across the curriculum where appropriate. We will build up with special events and 'themed days/weeks' as we get closer to the summer.
